Plant girl //

Her face, grotesque;
Abject, with plants.
The flora, the fauna
they sprang from her skin,
Engulfing her from within.

They called her a freak,
Doused her with spit.
Contempt and conceit,
They cared none for her heart.

She was only a girl,
She was no different from us.
Yet such similarity simply made things
Worse.

For deeper her sins, with such bravery to be
Human in this concrete land
of concrete hearts.
