Concern

Concern

Deny my voice,
Lean towards your inner desires.
Take away all need;
Remove all thought.

Whine as the mirthless laughter descends,
Your leaking lies seep through my hands.
You live beneath the naive thoughts of crime,
Then expect the world to fine-tune your mind.

Honestly, your voice, while it
rings through my head,
Brings bouts of pure hate and utter resent.
Hath you no shame, hath you no heart?
To run past a fact so undeniably shown.

What wonderment fills me,
As I stare in your soul.
Such bottomless pits – such unlikely heart;
To have stirred such regret,
To have caused such emotion;

To have ceased to require the concern for fear.
